Ok, so it’s been a super stressful couple of weeks. Working two jobs, school, the website and my move. And things aren’t slowing down anytime soon… While in high speed mode, i need things that make me feel good and help me unwind at the end of the week. There are so many great feel good things out there, but I wanted to share this one with you guys.

In my eyes, there are really only two ways to de-stress, God and a good sugar scrub– Feeling good on the inside and out 😉 A sugar scrub can do wonders for your skin, including exfoliating and hydrating, but because of all the essential oils it also helps soothe your tension. My favorite scrub is Fresh’s Brown Sugar Body Polish and luckily because I work part time at Sephora I get a nice employee discount. But for those of you that don’t have $60 laying around, I suggest trying a do it yourself sugar scrub that is very similar to Fresh’s Body polish.

1/2 cup Brown Sugar

1 Tbsp. Honey

Sweet Almond Oil

1/4 tsp. Fresh Lemon Juice or Lemon Oil (If using oil use 1/8 tsp.)

Ginger

Peppermint Oil

Pour the brown sugar in to a bowl and add in almond oil until the brown sugar is moist, but not too saturated (also, some people mix both brown sugar and Sugar in the Raw for a more granulated texture).  Add a hint of peppermint oil and some grated ginger. Next stir in your honey to help the whole polish come together. Drop in a dash of fresh lemon juice, and you have your very own brown sugar body polish! I’ve tried making this before and absolutely LOVED it. Just remember to store in an airtight container.
